I just bought the 5th wheel companion hitch. I have an eight foot bed and would like to know what bolt pattern to use. There are 9 different setups you can use with the bolt pattern.

I don't own a 5th wheel camper. But I am setting the truck up to pull anything I can put on the back of it.

So if there is a standard setup I could use it help me out a lot.

I have a short bed. I got mine set where it is right over the axle I belive it is the middle hole, and the second set from the top on the up and down. This works well with my 5th wheel.The hight adjustment will depend a lot on your 5th wheel.

That is where I set this one up at.
I am going to talk to a RV deal about delivering two 38 foot bumper pull campers for him tomorrow. He said he would help me get the 5th wheel setup to the truck.

I put mine just short of the farthest forward setting ... the assembly sheet gives you some instructions. My pivot is just short of the very front of the wheel well. Have had no difficulty with my 31' unit. (CCLB) Have thought about moving it forward another notch (that is done by tipping the pivot and using the foremost holes) ... haven't been quite that ambitious at this point.

rjdake, Nice 5th wheel you have.
The wife and I went to a RV show in Raleigh NC.
We were looking at all the 5th wheels and she kept asking if the truck would pull it? I told her, yes but we can’t take all your stuff.
Some how a washer and dryer in it became real importing to her.

workedfonit just as well go ahead and get one an enjoy. we sure enjoy ours and I didn't think I would care for it that much.

What is the companion rated at for a capacity? I've seen different numbers on different websites.

the 5th wheel companion is rated at 18,000lbs. I recently put mine in and really like it.
