: DPF delete and emission passing

I talked to Chad today at Alligator perf. and really like the idea of the quad dpf delete kit he's offering. My concern is because I live in Mid TN and they do emission testing every year in order to renew your plates and he suggested keeping the dpf and reinstalling it every year. I would really like to not have to so I was wondering if anyone has done the dpf delete and has had any trouble with emission testing? If not I think I'm going to go ahead with it.

Any other feedback would be helpful.

Thanks,
BK

If they do emmissions testing, theres really no way around it unfortunately. Do they do a visual inspection as well?

I wonder if one can just put a spool piece in for a CAT, pop in the cat for testing, and then using maybe EFI somehow to tune it to use less fuel, change timing or something to get you by. It would be doggy for the testing but just a thought.

I don't think so, but they do put a sniffer up the pipe and connect to the obd II but I think that is just to check for any codes. I have a friend that had an abs light on a mini-van and it failed which I thought was stupid

I was also told by someone that his 6.0 ford passed without a cat.

Brian, like I said before, put the wide 4" band clamps on to make the joints serviceable. That is really the only way to swap them out regularly without too much trouble. I know it sucks, but there really no way around have the DPF in place for inspection. Let me know if I can help, I can supply you the seviceable band clamps if you need.
