I would highly recommend taking your LMM's in for the ECM update, probably most critical if you tow with the stock setup.
I don't recall the notice mentioning anything other than the no-start issue, evidently GM thought it wasn't worth mentioning that it also changes some rather important parameters with the EGR and DPF systems.
I got a "clean exhaust filter" message followed by CEL 45 minutes or so later AND limp mode pulling a Montana 5'er across S. Dakota on Tuesday.
Roadside Assistance of no help, they didn't have a clue what I was supposed to do with the trailer. Limped it westbound to Murdo for another 20 miles while on the phone with a few dealers.
The service dept. at Beck's Chevrolet in Pierre was most helpful on the phone going over the problem and decided it would be best to have it towed back to Pierre, 70 miles in the wrong direction. Dropped trailer at a campground for the night and the tow truck showed up at 6:45 am yesterday morning, pulled me back to Pierre, Beck's immediately started work on the truck. (Glad I didn't have to pay the $300 for the tow, thanks GM)
The CEL turned out to be for a P0402 code. They did the re-flash and also thought it prudent to force a "clean burn" of the DPF, the thought was that it didn't finish what it started so better safe than sorry - more than a little disconcerting to see/ listen to my truck running at 2500rpm for 40 minutes straight in their parking lot doing the regen., I should have brought some hot dogs or marshmallows along, let me tell you that exhaust plume is hot!
Back to Murdo to pick up the trailer, and on to Rapid City/ Mt. Rushmore area yesterday afternoon. Way steeper grades without any problems, and most importantly didn't cost me a nickle.:)
