Shouldn't you be able to just pull your truck into a garage to load the Predator? In the manual they state that they do not want GM doing a diagnostic thru OnStar while loading a tune. This cannot occur when inside because OnStar runs by satillite and will not work indoors. Any Predator guru's know the answer?

Onstar runs on land based cellular phones, analog, unless they changed recently. No need to park in the garage.

Onstar runs on land based cellular phone, digital/analog currently, but soon (2006 i think) to be ALL digital. FCC requires digital/analog at the present time but that does expire soon. Onstar has nothing to do with satellites.

I have loaded my predator with the fuses pulled and not pulling. It is safer to pull fuses. There have been cases of the tune not loading with the fuses in. If this does happen just pull fuses and start over.

They know your exact location after an accident by cellular technology and not GPS? I guess I always thought they used GPS for that.

Yes they use GPS. All communitactions with onstar are cellular.

I switch between the 40 and 65 tune. I never pull the fuses to that. If I am restoring to stock I will pull fuses. The switch between 40 and 65 takes about one minute.
