I have a clunking noise from the front suspension. I just had my steering shaft replaced with the new design so I don't think that is it. But when you go over a big crack in pavement, pull into a gas station lot where the concrete is an inch or tow higher it sounds like something in the front end is loose, like a control arm or something.

I bought the truck with 27,000 miles, has OEM 245's and t-bars cranked. Any ideas on where to look?

You might start by looking at the bushings that hold the t-bars.
Is the clunk everytime you drive over a change in pavement height? Is it more streight on, or at an angle?
Might also be a shock bushing.

It is straight on and at an angle. It does sound sort of like the T-bar bushings did on my S-10 when they went out, but you could feel them in your feet when they clunked, and they only did it in a turn.
