i'm very pleased with Heath Diesel and their service. i ordered a set of stock stanadyne injectors for my truck on monday last week. they showed up today. since they were the last set and i didn't have my credit card on me for the over the phone purchase i asked Ian to hold them for me. when i got the box it said "hold for dave" on the box. that impressed me as most places will just say "yup sure" or "call us back when you've got the card". the injectors came with the return line kit both turbo gaskets and a 30MM Snap-On injector socket. the addition of a socket, and a snap-on at that, was the thing that puts them over the rest in customer service. they didn't have to include a socket, nevermind one of such high quality yet they did. needless to say Heath will be getting my money from now on.
now comes the fun part....installation.

Let me know how it goes and any tips as i'm planning on doing mine this fall. Don't really want to but doubt they've ever been changed. I'm going with the same Heath kit as well.
It...should...be...interesting...

It really isn't too bad. If I had to do it again, I could do mine in a couple of hours tops even removing the turbo. A lesson learned that I'll pass on to you is start it up with the turbo off to check for leaks (don't ask how I know). Just put the oil feed tube for the turbo in the hole where the CDR goes.
As far as getting the turbo off, I used a 3' extension going up from the bottom to get the nuts off. Made the job real easy. Using this method, I can have the turbo off in about 15 minutes.

Nice they gave you the socket. My buddy just bought one. Up here it was a $100. I just did the driver side injectors. Haven't got around to the other side yet.

me thinks they will charge you for the socket or expect you to send it back with the cores for a refund. i believe it's called a loaner. but yep heaths is a pretty decent company to do business with and i would also buy from them AGAIN. in fact as far as customer service goes i bought the hp4 and had injectors installed by a business associate of theirs in ellensburg. i had some issues with the hp4 tranny shifting and sent a couple emails then got fed up with my ISP and switched internet suppliers which meant i lost the email addy i had. they had no way to get ahold of me till bill tracked me down through a phone book, and even then it was a shot in the dark as my last name is quite common. it's a wonderful day in the neighborhood..... You can't remove the inner fender and go that route?

You can but the turbo is still in the way. You can remove the turbo without pulling the inner fender.

I bought stock injectors from Heath also. They are very good to deal with. I also agree to R&R turbo to replace them. It's really easy to do and makes the job less difficult.

no cores. brand new injectors not remans. total on the billing slip said "stock injectors $519.99" then shipping was listed. no mention of a socket and no mention of having to return it or cores of any kind. i didn't pay a core charge either. on the side of the box it said something like "stock with socket" or something along those lines. socket looks brand new and there not a spec of paint or rust from use so i don't think it is or ever was a loaner. the box is downstairs and i'm too lazy to go get it.:p:

new injectors installed. new bosch duraterm glow plugs installed as well. started at about 4:30pm and by 11:30 pm we were done. the hardest part was the passenger side rear injector. other than that even the glow plugs came right out. the old glows said Ac Delco on them and still had a good amount of chrome on them where they went into the motor. i tested them right off the battery with jumper cables and they only glowed at the tip and a bit towards the center after about 5 seconds or so. i'm not sure if they were 60Gs or not. on maybe 5 of the 8 glows they were burnt in a white-ish gray color. i'm guessing its from the injectors being worn?
overall the truck runs better, less smoke too. at startup a get a little puff instead of the cloud i used to get. the engine physically sounds healthier as well. the exhaust sounds more "crisp", for a lack of a better word, than it used to.
the trip to work tomorrow will tell the real story however.

I was looking at doing my injectors and glowplugs. I don't see how you can do it with out taking off the turbo and manifold. You guys are good.

i took off the turbo for the job. the turbo came off quite easily actually. i was quite surprised when the turbo to manifold bolts just broke free and didn't just break.
