I have an 05 2500 hd that has developed a knock and miss. It has 9200 miles. When I remove the drain plug on the filter only drips of clean fuel come out. In order to get fuel out I need to pump the primer. Fuel looks clean and dry. I have been using Howes at every fill up. I run the truck between watertown NY and NJ. The problem seems to occur under medium acceleration. Its is most apparent around 1500 rpm - 45-50 mph. It started yesterday morning and has gotten worse since. I placed the truck in a heated garage over night hoping the problem was cold related but no change. Thanks for any input.

Could be a bad seal on the filter. Sounds like there is air getting into your fuel line if it will not maintain pressure. The easiest route may be to change the fuel filter. Your close enough to 10000 miles anyway...

well, there has also been some fuel filters with pin holes. as reineke said, changing the fuel filter is the easiest.
