<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1> <!-- / icon and title -->What's the best way to increase leveling capacity for very large loads of 10,000-14,000 lbs. The loads will be pulled on a gooseneck and large ball hitch trailors, my Duramax right now seems to sag more than I would like and I think it is straining my tranny. Thinking add a leaf? Stiffer Shocks? Any secrets? Anyone have some luck with something I should know about. Am not afraid of a much stiffer truck, this is a farm puller pure and simple. Thanks, Labrew

I would suggest either overload springs (helper) or airbags. This will also make your ride better empty. Just something to consider. Do a search on here and you will find tons of info.. Good luck... and Welcome...

danb0720...I have a Super Duty Air Lift system on my truck and combined a Load Controller II in cab leveling system. I load a 4K lb Lance Camper in the dually and it keeps the ride calm in windy conditions and keeps the truck level while maintaining a nice ride over the bumps.
Here's the links!
Super Duty Air Lift System (http://www.airliftcompany.com/superduty.htm)
Load Controller II (http://www.airliftcompany.com/loadcon2.htm)
With the air bag system on, you will not lose your stock ride like you would if you install an add-a-leaf or overload.

I use Timbren blocks on the rear. They bolt in where the bump stop is located. These are much cheaper than air bag systems at about 150 bucks for a set. Also, when you load the truck, load from the back to the front. Keep as much weight off the truck as possible.

When you're using the ball hitch, try a load distributing hitch.

Air Lift Superduty air bags. I just bought the bags. I use a 12v air compressor with a long cord and a good dial air guage to set the bags the way I need them. Total cost of $250.

Can you get bags for the front?

Can you get bags for the front?Timbren's only for the front.
Before you add anything, make sure your springs are still within factory spec. so that your starting from the best stock ride possible. I added an extra leaf and timbrens after having the springs re-arced to 1 ton spec on my 02. The ride was firmer but not harsh. Since I had the spring work done they have not sagged at all pulling the same loads. I also don't have to worry about adding air when I hook up to heavy trailers.
My 04 goes into the shop tomorrow to have the springs drawn (re-arced). They have sagged pulling the same trailers and loads that the 02 has been fine with, since the spring work on it.
