I've got a rounded off nut on a stud, what is the best way for me to get it off? I'm not the one who put it on there but I know what dealership did and I will be having a talk with them......in the mean time I need to get this fixed.

Craftman sells a rounded nut/bolt remover. My dealer rounded my drain plug. I used the tool w/ an impact gun. Works really good.

Another option is to use a nut splitter ..

Another option is if you can get a slightly smaller size socket (probably the next size down in fractional sizes) to pound on there that will sometimes get it.

Nut splitters work great if you have the access to get it in there. I've also carefully used a cut-off disc on a dremel to cut a nut almost down to the threads and used a chisel to knock it off.

It's a little drastic, but I have even welded another nut to the one that was rounded and used that to turn off the rounded one. Probably not a great option on a wheel nut, but an option none-the-less.

Dura - I'm going to check on that.

RF - I thought about a splitter but I'm not sure how it would work with the limited space.
