My wife warned me that if I fiddle with my truck too much I am going to mess something up. Well, in my attempt to install auxillary back-up lights I have lost power to both factory back up lights. I was probing the light socket when I thought I may have shorted something. Checked the fuse [B/U LP] and it is fine. I checked the wiring harness under the truck (you know, jiggled it) and not even a intermittant flash. Is there anything else I can try before admitting defeat? :(

Change the fuse, might look OK,but in reality cooked since you were probing

The BCM controls the backup lights. A code might have set. If that is the case the lights will be disabled. Also check the TBC2B fuse at the fuse panel near the driver's door. You could also try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.

Hurry up, I think I hear her car!

:D GMCSID ***A thousand blessings on you and your home!***
It was the TBC2C Fuse. I tried shining a flashlight on each fuse to see if it looked good, but that one was to burried and I didn't know what that fuse was for. All is working and JUST as my wife was pulling into the driveway.:D
And of couse, none the wiser ;) .

What and where is the TBC2C fuse?

That's great Cracker Jack! Just in time!

Jumper357, the TBC 2B fuse is where the BCM gets the power that it supplies to the backup light and it's located in the fuse panel near the driver's door. The B/U LP fuse supplies power to the NSBU switch (or neutral switch on manual trannys) and supplies the BCM with a backup light request signal.

Sid

Now if you could just get my Courtesy delay working you'd be my hero. ;)

How come when I cycle to AUTO lights off by pushing that button three times repeatedly and it the power on till key removed door opened worked when I cycled the key off? The dam thing is so intermediate.

Can you give me play by play on the Tech II or to difficult?
