Everytime I try to install the E-power I have it basically fails and says to call the phone # (PPE). They gave me quite a few things asking about aftermarket stereos, and i pulled all the fuses etc they told me to. Nothing has worked so far.

Also with my hptuners i can use the scanner and connect and watch the truck running etc. But when i try to Read the stock tune, it fails.

Any ideas?

im probably pretty far off but.....when my buddy got his epower he called me up because he was trying to load a tune and the same thing happened to him but his truck wouldnt start. I went out and after screwing around a while I noticed that his A/C was on but turned down all the way and his radio was on but the volume was turned down. I simply shut the 2 off and we were on our way. Id say its better to not have a bunch of stuff communicating with the computer while you're trying to load a tune.

Take the truck for a drive. 30 miles.... then try it.

Should one still pull the fuses if you turn everything off?

When I have this problem I usally have something on blower motor or radio even dome light has screwed me up. Start the truck put in drive for a few seconds then reverse for a couple of seconds and then back to park, shut truck off and you should be fine.

i have had that warning as well when changing tunes with the ats e power. my problem was that i had not plugged in in all the way. it powered the tuner but no cumminication. just had to be a little more forceful when attaching under the dash. i have never had to turn off radio, air or whatever. just make sure not to adjust anything when actually tuning the truck.

I had the same problem with a Power Pup, EPower and EFILive and then found out my ECM was corrupted from a flash the dealer did before I bought my truck. I replaced the ECM and all those tuners worked perfectly.

A friend of mine owns three duramaxes and a dealer grounded out one of the trucks obd2 plug so it would not even power up a programer. he told them to fix it or he was going to drop off all three trucks and go buy dodges. The truck was fixed the next day. That was the same dealer that wouldn't fix my injectors when i was 50,000 miles under warr.

When I first tried to install a tune with my ppe it wouldn't communicate so I called Dan at ppe and he asked if I had an aftermarket alarm. I do have one and he told me to disconnect the orange wire spliced into the harness going into the obd2 port. I did and it worked great. I now have a bullet connector on that wire so I can unplug it to tune and plug it back in easily. Hope this helps.

Check the "cig lighter" fuse.

Would be helpful if you told us what year truck it is.

the e-power is the ppe hot2 et it just has ats on it if u call and ask bout dl a updates u will be told its the same any way i get that error from time to time but i found out if i turn everything off and the lights it will work but every now and agin it wont work(like going from tune 10 to 8 to 4 to 9 back to 7 all in a few days) so i found out if u pull the info fuse and cycle the ignition about 15 times ish it works last time i did that it worked
