so i'm supposed to go to a pull later today and never pulled watch them all the time and now i finally got my front end all beefed up and wanna pull but not sure what to do: 4-low and in first? 4-high and drive? i mean i know once i start to make boost then roll into it but setting up is where i'm questioning this...also if my cv axles might be going bad whats the probability of snapping one while pulling i know there under a lot of stress in 4 wheel drive. any little info would be killer so i dont hurt my truck to bad...i know anything can happen but a $400 drive shaft sounds better then doing my trans without having it all pieced together yet or the money to do even that

I say put your truck in 4 low select "3" on the display for transmission gears and give her hell. Also, lower the torsion bars all the way down that will help keep your cv's alive.

Plenty of info on this forum. Do a 'cram course' this afternoon. Good luck!

yea i wonder how easy my bars will be to lower seeing how i personally have never touched them and dont know when they were cranked to level it...i'm not sure my cv's are bad but after doing balljoints, pitman/idler arms and the pitman/idler brace kit and the tie rod kit i still notice a "clunk" turning hard usually backing up...gonna replace stabilizer shock and put cognito sway bar links in seeing how mine are starting to split...and then the only thing would be cv axles

Make sure you jack your front end up completley before you touch the torsion bar bolts. I've seen a couple break off by not having all the weight off the front.

If you get pumped watching truck pulls, then you are in for complete shock once you try it out...no matter how well you do! Good luck

well got there and they wouldn't let me in said sign in was closed when my friend had gotten there 5 minutes before me...so i watched and they didn't even do the stock class for an hour, so they could have let me in...left there and tried to make it to drags and got stuck in traffic and didn't make it in time...but i'm glad cuz now my cv axle is clunking real bad so now i know its bad just wish i would have changed them 2 weeks ago when i rebuilt front end...anyone know if they make beefier shafts? and can i change them without separating the spindle from control arms?
