Hi guys,
A friend has a new 2004 silverado 2500 with the snow-plow pre wiring. Supposedly there is a wire for a beacon (to be installed on the roof) somewhere. I have a switch on the dash for the light but I don't know where the wiring has been hidden. The manual says nothing about it. Does anyone have an idea where i might be able to look for it? Any help would be appreciated!!
TIA!!

It is all tied up between the roof and the head liner. You can fish it out without totaly dropping the headliner but most needs to come down. You can drill a hole in sheet metal:eek: or better yet run the wire down to the little plastic grill thingy between the bed and the cab in the cab, its a vent, push the wire through that or pop out your 3rd brake light and take the wire out under that and put your 3rd brake back in.

On my crew cab, there was a relay in the pillar beside the drivers seat.. I tapped in there then ran all of my Hide away strobes out the floor, and down the frame rails to the front and rear lights. with the power pack under the rear seat...Getting to the factory strobe wire is a neat trick...It all works off of the factory dash swith, i do have to go back under the seat to change the patterns though..

My wires were found pretty well straight up over the driver seat, had to drop the headliner. I drilled a hole (!) and installed a plug and socket from a Caterpillar beacon light setup and sealed it with o-rings so i can unbolt my light in the summer and not worry about leaks either.
