How much would be involved in converting a 2500hd DA Single Cab/Long Bed to a short bed? It doesn't look like a direct fit, but I haven't measured anything. I've seen where bullydog did this, but nowhere else. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Bullydog has a lot of money and anything they do is a business expense. Not sure of the exact frame length differences but you'd have to shorten the wheel base by cutting a section out of the frame and all connecting lines etc. If you really want a short box sell what you have and purchase a short box truck.

I am with aka108 for you to do it yourself would not be very cost effective.

I wouldn't tow with a truck converted long to short. SCARY!
Funny thing I had a strage dream about doing short to long on my truck...

Have to chop the frame in the middle to shorten the wheelbase. It would be quite a bit of time or quite a bit of $$$ if you were paying someone to do it.
There are cars that are backhalved so I wouldnt be afraid of the structural integrity of a truck that was shortened if it was shortened RIGHT.

That was pretty much what I thought was going to have to happen. I sold my last truck (2500hd (http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/b928d821/f165/__sr_/0f94.jpg?phQMNKCBctDI9y_w)) and now I want another one just not lifted. I want a fast diesel sc/sb truck that I can haul stuff with occassionaly (4wheelers, streetbikes, boats.). I'm just researching the easiest route and I don't think chevy makes a sc/sb duramax. Thanks for the help so far.:ro) :ro)

Why would you want a short bed? with a short bed you might as well get a jap truck. One of my employees had s RC/sb the stuck road like crap with short a short wheel base.

The easiest way to do it is just cut off the rear spring hangers and move them forward. Then chop off the tail end of the frame. Plenty of Offroad guys do this to give a better departure angle. Not very hard at all.
