People since I bought my 01 Duramax every time I step on the brakes I have a little problem. When the truck slows down to about 10 mph till at rest the brake pedal is "tapping" like the ABS is going off or something... Why is that...? How to I fix it...
Please advise

Thanks

Could be a few things causing the problem. Have you checked the brakes recently? Any shutter at high speeds. If pads are in good shape sounds like a warped rotor, check the rotors for run-out, usually any thing over ten thousands run-out will cause a pulsation or surge. O.E. steel wheels, aluminum or after market? Over torque or uneven torque on the lugs can also cause the problem if you've had some one rotate the tires recently. Steel wheels seem to have the most problems with this, check for corrosion on the mounting surface of the rotors.
I believe spec's are 140 ft lb. Check caliper movement, caliper slides, bearings, E-brake shoes and E-brake cable for corrosion. From there start looking at the ABS, more times than not if it's ABS related you would notice the problem all the time. What size of tire?

I take it you bought it used? Can you give some history on the brakes like how many miles etc? Also definately check what Druasky said.

The truck has 100,000 miles,:D one owner truck, wanted to get a new style 2500HD:cool2: Diesel and got rid the old one that I drive now. I do need to get tires though really bad. They are really bald. Maybe that's the prob. The brakes work fine so far. I will double check the run-out and calipers as well as brake pads...

Could also be dirt on the ABS sensors.

Precision37, that's very possible. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/rockon.gif
I'm betting on a warped rotor-or hard parts of the base braking system. Most of the time a sensor problem will light the ABS dash warning and cause the problem at any speed.

Anyone replaced oem rotors? Powerslot? what about pads?

Like precision37 said, rust and crap will cause the sensors to drop out too soon causing the brake module to think a wheel is skidding.
