My brother recently got an '05 Z71 with factory(?) overhead DVD player in it, and I made the mistake of letting my wife see it...so now she wants one in her 2001 Suburban...but, it has rear air, which means there is a set of rear HVAC controls right where the DVD player would go.

My question: does anyone know of an overhead DVD system made to work around the rear HVAC controls? I've seen a factory system from an '03 and up Sub, but I'm guessing the change in wiring between the '01-'02 generation and the '03-'06 generation prohibits a retro-fit?

there are some companies out there that sell direct fit kits that have the spot for the overhead controls. i don't remember the companies but they are out there, sorry it's been a while since i was in the electronics world. you can also do 2 10" flip downs if you have more than 1 kid. i did these in a hummer.

LOL...I have *4* kids, and we've been using a portable, but they're always getting tangled in the cords and it's gotten to where it won't work 1/2 the time.
