Hello. I am new to diesels. I had the oppurtunity to buy a superchips microtuner cheap so I took it. Now I am afraid to run it because of egt's, possible trans problems. I do not beat this truck at all nor do I want to I was just looking for a little extra power possible mpg gain. Do I need exhaust, Intake to run this? Is exhaust gauge necessary for safe operation? Any help at all will be appreciated. Thank you

exhaust is a good idea, but I don't hink you will have any issues with that, just take it easy on it until you buy an exhaust. Some of my friends ran the Edge for a while with stock exhaust there ok still.

i found out that the 2001 has no cat. does this change things? also is it totally necessary for the egt gauge?

01's do not have cats. EGT gauge is not nessecary but its nice to know. I put a 4" turbo back MBRP on my truck like 3 days after I bought it, it was a huge improvment. with the Edge I never seen more than 1300* I think you will be fine but I'd rather be safe than sorry. A good exhaust will sound awesome too.

Would a performance muffler or delete work with stock pipes? Thanks for all the help.
