How did it make you give up way too many mods?

First of all it was a huge problem to even get one. Then they wanted a fortune for it and all the wiring was different. So I just gave up

JP Customs has a factory unit with excellent instructions, works immediately on installation without dealer recoding. Price is reasonable.

I like it! Pricey, but nice!! :cool2:

Is this a GM product or aftermarket? Will it work with Sirius as well as XM?

I have done the conversion. It was pretty easy.
There is a 20+ page discussion on gm-trucks.com/forums that details the parts necessary and installation nicely.
I paid $1245 for my radio NEW. You can get them on ebay for much less.
They (GM) even makes a new TNR (touchscreen) model that will work in non-Bose equipped trucks.
The factory XM reciever works perfectly.

Looks and functions as if factory.

The mapping system is not very good, poor detail, only showed major streets. The aftermarket units are presently superior to GM's version.

Garmin 2610 GPS is far superior to any factory GPS unit I have seen.

Is this just a software issue from the CD-ROM database or is the problem more extensive? I was going to add the Premium TNR to my Yukon XL.

Horizon navigation is coming out with a new unit at the end a of March. I liked my old unit but sold it waiting for better unit. I also have a Garmin 2620 which is the best I have found. I have found every street I have put into it. I do service in the twin cities of Mn and put in about 6-10 address a day. The unit is about a year old now. You can upgrade software via the internet wit a patch cord or send it back to garmin

I picked up a new factory touch screen navigation system (radio, antenna, & nav disk) with a factory CD changer on eBay for $1,535 delivered. I have a good friend that is a 15 year GM master tech that has already installed one in his truck and will have mine done by the end of next week. The only question is; what will I do with my factory 6 CD Changer / Radio? ):h
