For those not wanting a huge story just skip to the bottom, but i would appreciate if i could get a little feedback here

For a little background info check out this old thread-http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=248005&highlight=jeepcj75
So, I have changed LP, OPS, fuel filter, cleaned the tank, checked fuel pressure, checked boost, even bench tested all my injectors to rule them out, gone over wiring, grounds, everything looks good, except the truck is still running like crap.

I took it by the local dealership to have them look at it, but incredibly didnt charge me anything (gasp!) to test my injectors, or have the head mechanic talk me through everything ive done and what he wouldve done. So far it seems like were on the same page

He thinks that it is the IP, he has worked on these before so I trust him, and since he didnt charge me anything he isnt trying to give me a line of BS about it. He told me that I should have the IP bench tested to see how it is performing in my truck. Another guy i talked to did the same thing and had great results, but it was just his PMD that was bad on it.

Anyone know a quality place to have this done? He took it to Diesel Specialists in Appleton, WI and they charged him 75$ to have it tested and another 200 to put new O-rings in it and check everything over for him. Anyone else have a better place to get this done at?

Thanks

first thing i would suspect is your pmd. Being stock there is a high likelyhood that its boned..

you can try pulling the pmd, poping the plastic caps and re-torquing the screws on the transistors. (there are several threads aval on how to do this)

it *might* bring it back. but in any case i would look into remote locating it off of the engine (airbox or front heatsink)

better would be to invest in a new pmd, and try that ($200.00 pmd is cheaper than a $2500.00 IP) and you should carry a spare anyways (this is experience after being left 100 miles into the bush by a bad pmd, and having to pay $5000 when search and rescue sent a bill for finding me after i disappeared for a 3 days)

as far as testing. its kinda tough, most injection shops dont have the equipment to test them due to the electronic solonoid valve. Mostly just eliminate everything else and put on a new one.
