Well, dudes, this is my first Q here as a new member. I've had my '01 since Feb of that year. Other than a topper, 90 hp Juice, and H2 wheels shod with Toyo Open Country 285/70/17's, it's stock. Now I want to put a lift into it. I first concidered a Rancho 4". I've seen them clear 35" meats, but they were on aftermarket wheels. I would really like to keep my H2's. I don't recall if the offset on these wheels will be enough (?) to clear a 4" or 6" lift. Will I need to use the spacers?

The lift for my pickup from Full Traction is a 6". They make real nice kits for TJ's and they are a new kit company on the scene. I don't know if anyone here has any experience with them on a DuraMax yet.

And as long as I'm being busy on the lift, I intend to open up the differentials and install eLockers and 4.56's at each end.

Thoughts, Guys? Pitfalls? TIA.

Thanks for the suggestion, Aron. I'll keep that in mind.

I thought the gear swap would've brought more responses than this. It seems most folks are/may be running the stock 3.73's when they put the larger tires on. The sites for gears and diffs have gear ratio calculators based on tire size. Even the 33's I have on now should be at least 4.10 - 4.27:1. It takes some more ooomph to get these rolling, so I'm sure the 4.56' - 4.88:1's they recommend will be right on for the 35's that are going on.

And as long as I'm on the subject, has anyone installed the Eaton e-Locker in their rig???

TIA. BB

gears will defenately help on the acceleration, kinda a cognito fan for these newer rigs, one mans opinion you know what they are worth, never did a e locker, but eaton is some stout stuff.

BDS make a top of the line lift, however; unless they just come out with a lift for the Chevy/GMC HD 4X4 lineup, there is none! They do have one for the 4X2 HD, but not the 4X4.

Many of the lifts will not allow the use of the Hummer wheels, however; Superlift, CST, and a few others will allow just about any off-set wheel. Rancho WILL NOT!

Thanks for the responses, guys. These help. BTW, I've got a letter sent off to the folks at Full Traction about their lift kit, ( p/n FTS4108, for the HD2500 4X4), asking about the wheel offset question. I'll post the reply here. I see they also have a dual shock hoop for the front end of these pickups... BB

Also it does not just use a block in the back i have talked to my closest installer and he has put a few on already and he said it uses add a leaf and a block.

Thanks for the update, Aron. It shows a wheel backspace spec of 4.5 inches. Looks like either I'm going to have to use a different wheel or what... I still haven't heard back from Full Traction on this issue. I'll let you know. BB
