Hi,

This may not be the right place ( truck forum... ) but I have a question. My sister's 97 saturn twin cam is somehow getting fuel into the oil. She just had an oil change, and will keep an eye on the level. But what would cause this? ( bad fuel pump?? ) Thanks. She lives in Harrisburg, PA, and we live north of the border, ( 45 mins north of Toronto. ) so it is kinda hard for us to just run over and check!!

Thanks in advance.

Will

I'll go with the ever popular stuck injector.

Hi,

The fuel pressure regulator tested out ok, so I guess it must be the injectors. She will have to get them checked out, 1 must be stuck or something!!

Thanks alot.

stuck injector should stall engine or at least set rich ECM code. Also check out vapor purge system, if solenoid(s) stick open then full vacuum will go to tank and could pull some gas in. Might sound silly but filling tank beyond where nozzle shuts off can force fuel into engine through above mentioned purge hoses. If injector prob, have shop make sure it's the injector and not a short to ground in wiring or ECM glitch. I know you weren't there was regulator checked for fuel leakage as well as pressure? On 3.8's the reg leaking is becoming commonplace around our shop, by leaks I mean through vacuum diaphragm.

Hi,

Thanks alot for all who offered advice. It was a stuck injector. She had a motor-vac done and all is well again!!!!

Thanks
