: Throttle pedal to soft

Does anybody else here think that the throttle pedal is WAY to soft?? If I drive on even a slightly rough road my foot is bouncing on the throttle and causing surging. The other day I was backing up in my driveway(new house, lots of frozen ruts) and I could hardly control it. I'd give it a little then the truck would hit a rut and my food would go down and she'd over power and back and forth. I have tried my damdest to get a smooth slow crawl over rough ground and it is not possible with this soft throttle. When I have big boots on I can hardly feel the throttle at all.
Is there a way to put a stronger return spring on the thing?.....................Rick

interesting observation..I will say this.. the throttle is a tad bit soft, but does not even compare to the 6.0 HD gasser pedal... my gawd..like you said, you hit the smallest crevace in the road and you surge.

Ever since they went from an actual cable to the electronic pedal (aka drive by wire) its been super touchy feely..

If you take a look under your dash at the gas pedal, you will see that the gas pedal work on a electronic circuit, and there is no throttle cable or linkage, which is the reason the pedal is very touchy! there is no resistance through a cable and such....

it takes a lot of practice to do it smooth. i try and coast over ruts or potholes when i can, then give it gas when im out of 'em.

I have had my 04 LLY for a year and still have trouble on dirt roads. A friend of mine lives a mile off the pavement on a washboard road. Sometimes I just nail the throttle and then let it coast for a while and repeat the same process. Yea, wish it had a little more spring tension on the reostat on the floor.
