: TTT Mirrors Installed Last Night
MaxRock 03-03-2005, 06:21 PM I successfully installed the TTT mirrors with turn and marker lamps. The finished product looks great. The larger mirrors are more in line with the size of the truck (especially with the H2 tires and wheels).
Driving in this morning there were no blind spots. Really love the rearward vision that I now have.
Looking forward to pulling my 5er in the next few weeks. I'll post my opinion when I return.
Thanks for all of the good input!

weaverism 03-03-2005, 08:17 PM Where did you tap the power for the markers?
weaverism,
check the TTT testimonial thread in this forum, near the end of the current page. cant speak for max rock, i tied into my clearance lights and it was very easy. check the other thread for more detail/opinions.
MaxRock 03-04-2005, 11:03 AM weaverism,
I followed TTT installation guide to the "T". My truck is an '02 and has a plug on the driver's and passenger side fuse panel that has the parking light circuit. I tapped the markers in that circuit. This allowed for me to run <6' wires from each mirror. I know that trucks MY '03 and newer are different.
The one area I deviated from was the wire gauge. TTT calls for 14 AWG, I used 18.
Let me know if you have any questions.

MaxRock 03-04-2005, 02:35 PM I'll try to post some pictures this weekend.
At night with the roof marker lights, the mirror marker lamps and the dually "3 light" bar just above the bumper, I'm going to have add a second alternater!!!

02B12S 03-19-2005, 07:00 PM OK, I put the TTT mirrors on my truck (Manual) had to cut the end of my Ventshade, since the base of the TTT is wider by about an inch. I had the GM branded verion on my 04, is their a model that will fit with the TTT's. I like to crack the window in the rain and not have it drip inside .. :^)
Like the mirror's. hate loosing the window shade, it whistles since I cut it :^(

Check previous posts on the TTT installation subject. Someone posted "to slowly heat the Ventshade while tighting the mirror and the Ventshade will mold itself to the mirror . I tried it and it worked great.

Mine will just barely fit into the garage, but after putting a white vinyl house paint "racing stripe" along the bottom of both marker lights I finally wised-up and started folding the driver's mirror while I'm waiting for the door to go up!:duh:
JJs DuMax 04-01-2005, 07:43 PM MaxRock,
Pulled that 5ver yet? I'm anxious to see how the TTT's improved your rearview vision. Did you have the GM power retractable RV mirrors before to compare them to? That's what I have. The TTT's extend out 2" further. Just interested to see if the money is worth it for me. JJ :)
XR-Freak 04-02-2005, 03:22 AM just installed mine. love um,,,,,,except for the pass mirror. to bad they are not like the factory mirrors (object in mirrior are colser.....:blahblah: . All in all i give them a 9.5. Tomorrow morning I'm going to help a friend out and tow his 30' WW back from Ocotillo wells. AHHHH god what a story.
We arrived in glamis on wednessday night after suffering a blown tire, no big deal. Proceed to have an awesome weekend with friends, drink lot of cocktails, eat lots of great food including, Lamb chops, stir fries, fresh lobster still alive after the drive....the sweetness goes on and on.
OK on the way home the triple axle Weekend Warrior blows another tire. So we called the parents and had them drive from san diego to Occotillo Wells and give us a fresh spare. So basically we're all thinkin, we're going home.......WRONG...10 miles l;ater 2 more blown tires. So we basically gave up on getting the trailer home that night . We found a guy who had a ranch and we asked him if it was cool to leave the rig their. He said cool. We gave him some cash and said when we return we'll give you more. Well my budy whos trailer it is says lets go home. I'll buy the upgraded 16 inch rims and tires and head back out to pick it up in the next couple of days. Sounds good to me so we leave.
My buddy gets a call from work and they send him up to San Jose for the week, which meens his trailer is stuck until he returns. Last night he gets a call from the sheriff and he says, everything is stripped and stolen what do you want me to do? Well my budy asked if the CRF450R, Bombardie 650, and his colf cart were still there. The answer was NO. OUCH
So because he's in San Jose he can't do anything. So in about 4 hours i'm gonna wake up and meet his dad so we can get the trailer back in the morning. I can't wait to show his old man who is a die hard dodge guy what my truck can do. I'll give you an update tomorrow
jnieberlein 04-02-2005, 03:58 AM Ouch is right.......Damn good luck pulling it back hope they catch the theives....check the ranchers barn you never know. Anyways good luck

Max Owner 04-03-2005, 10:34 PM Can the TTTs be installed (and have the marker lights work) on an 02 with the manual telescoping mirrors?
Seems like the answer is yes.....?
02B12S 04-04-2005, 09:43 AM For forming the Ventshade.. Is the wife's hairdryer good enough :^) or do I need a real heat-gun..
