OK, it happened once, didn't think anything of it, twice, blamed it on the weather, but this is the 4th time I've changed the Turn Signal fuse in the past few days. I think its supposed to have a 15 or 20, I put a 20, 25 and now it blew a 30a fuse! I replaced it again, and the signal lights all work, 4-ways work, but what I noticed is that I don't have Reverse Lights for some reason? I assume that since the fuse is marked Turn/BU then thats the other thing it operates. I'll pull the lights off and check the reverse bulbs, but since neither is working I'm thinking the problem is somewhere under the dash...

Anyone have any ideas???

You been towing a trailer, my gasser used to pop them when hooked up to a trailer with a bad ground wire overloading the circuit, from that experience I'd say check into grounds, make sure the block to frame ground is intact, would be my 1st guess as truck will look for nearest ground to stay running, which may be turn signal circuit. My gasser also found it's ground once thru my CB radio, I disconnected it and under hood trouble light got dimmer, reconnected it & it got brite again. Final fix was double ring terminal batery cable connected to back of alternator mounting stud and to a stud on the frame.

No CB, no Trailer, I even unplugged my trailer light harness in case that was the problem, I've also added extra battery to block to frame ground straps trying to fix the surge.

Could be a shorted out reverse light wire, that only shorts out and blows the fuse when you put your truck in reverse?

Could be the insulation on the reverse light wire is shot, and only intermittantly makes contact to ground (bumps, cornering, etc...).

Could explain why it takes a day or two to blow the fuse.

Do your reverse lights work when you plug in a new fuse?

Reverse lights don't work, ever, and I have to find out why. I also have to reverse out of my parking spot at least twice a day, now its gone 2 days on the same fuse??? could be a loose hot wire to the lights, have to get back there and check.

I would start with a total replacement of all turn/stop/reserve light bulbs. I have more than once seen a build ground out inside and still appear to work but cause all kind of problems. Cheap place to start I think..... but i ain't nobody

My dad's '96 blew the turn signal fuse a few times and it's a new turnswitch assembly, looked in the fuse area and seperated some wires that were squished together behind that fuse and it hasn't blown it again since.
