Our 706 came with only one valve on the tractor. This controls the rear remote on the tractor. Then there is a PTO pump that drives the loader which has 3 valves for the loader. (Lift, dump, and grapple) We would like to know if anyone knows where to buy another valve for the tractor. We would like a factory setup. One that would connect to the existing valve under the seat. We would like to plumb one in and make use of the remotes that would of been on the sides of the tractor.
I tried e-bay but came up short. Any other resources out there besides the dealer?
While we are looking, we need a new tach cable to.
Thanks in advance!

Give Worthington Ag a try, www.worthingtonagparts.com, give them a call or check online. It would probably be off a salvage tractor, but that shouldnt make much of difference. I see that they also have your tach cable listed on their website, part #WN-A-396386R93, dont know if those got changed with the C263 to C291 change, so it may be different.
Also, if you want to look up your own part numbers and such for when you call, Titan has a online parts look up on their website. It's pretty much the same we see at work, although a little harder to get a price and availability than for us!

What about Pete's Tractor Salvage at Anamoose, ND?

I always forget about Pete. I am actually making a trip to Downing Tractor Parts down in Downing, WI on Friday. (We will be in the area anyways to drop my girlfriend's boys off at their dad's.) I am getting a rebuilt starter from them for $110. The bendix on ours is shot, the bushing in the end cap is shot, and the brushes are almost gone. Can hardly rebuild for that price!
Does anyone know how the 706 hydraulics work? Where do the control valves get the flow from? Is there some sort of port on the floor there that comes up to feed them? All we can see are the lines that run to the remote on the back. That is it. But the oil has to come from somewhere!

If you look at the remote valves under the seat the oil flows in from the right seat mount casting through the valves and back into the casting. Your 706 is early enough that it might have the old style valves, if it does it will have a plate bolted over the left end of the valve stack while the later models (through the 66 and maybe even the early 86 series tractors) will have the end cast into the outside valve body. Here is a picture of the valves on our 1066 which might give you a better idea how they work. The oil flows into the left valve and on through the right valve (open center valves) and then on our's the bare metal plate on the end is a power beyond valve that sends oil to a seperate joystick valve for the loader.

I can't see the picture yet. I am at work and we have pretty tight firewall and internet sniffers. I will look at it in a bit. Should be able to connect to my home machine and be able to view it from there.
Ours does have that metal cap on the end. Downing quoted me $550 bucks for another valve and the hardware to make it work. I guess it's not too bad, but more then we would like to spend.

I see the picture now that I remoted into my home machine. Where did you get that bare metal piece? This is something that we talked about doing as well. That would make option #2 even more feasable if we could find that plate.
Oh, and we made a tach cable. Titan wanted almost 80 bucks for that thing! We made it for about 10 bucks.
