I have a buddy who is looking to buy an 07 lbz, cc,4x4 with a leveling kit on it. When he carfaxed it, it showed the "intermediate steering shaft" being replaced three times. The truck only has 28,000 miles on it. I've been viewing DP for about 9 months now and this is one issue I've not seen mentioned. Has anybody had such a problem or any info on what may be the cause? Thanks for any input you may offer.

I have replaced one in mine as well about 20,000 ago and I have about 85,000 now.

This is a huge issue. Do a search and you'll see this topic talked about all the time.

Thanks, I followed your suggestion and now I have plenty of info for my friend. I guess I'm fortunate so far, 43,000 and no problems with my trucks steering shaft since I bought it at 33,000.

Just put an "updated" one on. Second in 50K. We'll see...

Not sure what this has to do with intermediate steering shaft, but I think you have to cut the rivets off of the factory ball joint and replace with a bolt on ball joint.
