Got when I was driving up the island today. P1293, sounds like a generic code for bank one. Anyone have anymore info they can share? I will have my predator on monday so I am going to check out my balance rates and see what they are at. My #7 connector has been giving me problems the past few days...possibly related??? Before anyone asks, yes I have picked them and I did it again this evening before driving back down the island...uneventful to. I don't mind it failing with sunlight behind me...but no light kinda sucks.

OK, dumb question, Have you checked the wiring harness at the FICM bracket- to the right of the alternator! :D

X2, i just took the tie straps off mine because it was already rubbed though the electrical tape. I put some heater hose around it for protection and strapped it back down @94k miles. Hopefully yours didnt rub though..

X2 also disconnect your two main wiring connectors on the driver's side valve cover and make sure all the pins are seated correctly.

Dodgeman, tried to PM you but you're not allowed to get them or you chose not to get them...check your settings.

I don't recall doing any troubleshooting for this code at all. I think it was one of those gremlin things that came up and went away all in the same breathe. It never came back on me so I never really tried to chase it down though either.

You might try to ice pick it. Loss of injector connection will cause havoc in the FICM.

any one ever install the update kit from the stealership on the #2&7 plug? ive ice picked both plugs i think # 7 is the problem, you can wiggle it while running and re create the problem.

I did the GM #2#7 90* kit 50K miles ago and have had no problems.

The harness service kit part # 980117958.

The kit includes two 90* connectors with pig tails and two brackets to support the connectors.

Do a search for more info.

I've installed the harness kit on mine with no problems about 40K ago (knock on the proverbial wood), contrary to some. I wouldn't waste the money though. IIRC, it's around roughly $200 as opposed to a $2 ice pick. I didn't know about the ice pick method then, other wise I wouldn't have spend the money and just done that. I say spend and not wasted b/c it did fix the problem.
