I have a in bed 30 gallonTransflow fuel tank. In the truck I have a led readout that show number of gallons in each tank. It also show status. I am getting the aux,mn and total gal and status but the line below this were it show gallons and status I am not getting at times. It happen about one time in three. I just finshed checking the grounds and found it ok. If I do a restart it will usually do ok. When ever I crank the truck this panel goes blank. I wonder if it got something to do with it doing it's check and the lower voltage when starting. Aybody got any ideas?

How old are your batteries? I had a similar problem to this except it involved the radio's CD player. Basically, if I had a CD in the deck when starting the voltage evidently was low enough to cause an error in reading it. All this time I thought it was a radio problem. After a cell failed in one of the batteries, I replaced both. Ever since then, the problem has not returned. It may be that your initial voltage when cranking is just barely sufficient to properly energize the sensors.

The batteries came with the truck except for the one replace last November in Mississippi on a RV trip. I just had the wife start the truck as I looked at the voltage with a voltmeter. I am getting 12.33 v while cranking.

I'm not a EE, but that seems low to me. You might want to try searching to see what the expected voltage should be while cranking the engine, or to get maximum exposure, start a new thread with that as the subject. If you don't get any responses I'll see what I can dig up on it.

You are likely getting a "spike" that is too quick for your meter. Check it with a Fluke that captures the Hi/Low values.

Could a short in one of the cells create this condition? I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to run down to Autozone or something and let them test it on the machine... Probably good to test the old and the new one, just to be thorough. When one of my batteries failed, it was weird. One minute it seemed fine - next minute it was dead - and back again. Wasn't until I got home and got it on the little Schumacher smart charger that I realized there was a problem with it.

These Delco batteries are not worth a tinkers damn. They use to be one of the best battery out. The last truck and car they both leaked around the post the one in the car went bad again the next year and I got one from Auto Zone. While looking for the Chevy dealer in Miss. I ran accross a GMC dealer who gave me the directions to the Chevy dealer. He told me he didn't use them anyone used Interstate instead. I guess that was on cars and trucks out of warrenty.

It's a problem in the display unit. Call Transfer Flow and make arrangements to send it back. They can fix it. I've had two 30 gallon tool box combos and they both did it until sent back to TF. Mine was the first LLY they installed and the fuel quantity calibration wasn't very close (ran our of fuel with 5 showing). I had them recalibrate the module at the same time and now it is right on.

bearnc1,

Definitely let us know what happens on this - would be most curious to see how it all shakes out for you.
