Rad I have is 40-1/2" x 20-3/4" overall (34" x 20" x 2" core) with no filler neck and has a seperate brass tank which holds about a gallon of coolant.
Someone has offered me a new rad for an excellent price ($150) - apparently for a 6.2 in a pickup - but it's smaller (no measurements yet), has a filler neck, and no provision for using this tank.
If indeed this rad is for a 6.2, should i pass it up? Why would my rig require more cooling area and volume over another 6.2? My truck (former postal step van) i guess was built to run stop and go all day but I'm just using it as a pleasure yaught - or was the pickup cooling system just adequate enough and traded off to fit the hood profile?
So pass it up or grab it?
