I just got an '05 Duramax, and immediately ordered the Hypertech. Their website sez 30029, so that's what I order. Get, plug it in, and it says not for my vehicle. Call Hypertech, and they say, "Yeah, it's the correct part number, you just need one that says "For 2001-2005 models". Great, thanks for telling me that beforehand. Take it back, get another one, and this one now says " No c6 code detected, call Hypertech". I call Hypertech, and they say to send it back so they can update it. I ask the CSR, why the heck they don't bother telling (prospective) customers of these problems beforehand, and he just says he personally "re-calibrates" 20+ of these things daily. To me, that should be a strong indication that they should get this info on their website, so we can choose whether or not we want to deal with a potential problem right off the bat. Now I get to spend another $80 over-nighting this thing back and forth, so it doesn't take a month for it to be as it should when I paid the $400 for it in the first place.

Yeah, I know. I use(d) the Hypertech because I like the fact that it re calibrates your speedo(for bigger tires), and have been told that The Edge only shows you corrected speed on it's readout. I was told last night (after I sent out the Hyperslug) that The Edge also re-calibrates your speedo, which now would be water under the bridge. I think I'll be kicking myself for a long time now, especially considering The Edge also has a pyrometer and boost gauge, which I have to do separately

To my knowledge the edge doesn't calibrate your speedo - you can adjust the speed readout on the attitude to read correctly for different tire sizes.

The first Hypertech I got did not have the calibration for my truck. Second one did. Level 3 SUCKS when you step up into it and the timing goes aggressive. I know we've been spoiled with quiet diesels and all, but this is not something that I want...

Well, having now dealt with Hypertech's customer service department, this will be the last of their products I purchase

The predator is also a good option...has all the features you mention plus some pretty good programming for the lly....some of the best available in my opinion......maybe look into this one if the hypertech doesn't come thru.

For the LLY, I would try the Predator first and the Bullydog Powerpup 2nd, as far as programmers go. I've never had any problems with the Hypertech, either, but that was on an LB7.
