Should my '03 D/A be saying this on the DIC every time I start it? Been doing it since day 1.:knight:

First of all, how long have you had your truck? Did you buy it new or did you just buy it used? If you haven't checked the oil level, that's a good place to start... if you have changed and checked your oil level and know for a fact that it shouldn't be changed or checked, then read in the owner's manual (changing oil section) and it will give you a process for resetting the oil life reminder. Hope that helps!

On edit: I'm not sure if the 03's have the oil life reminder reset feature or if the dealership has to do it? I have an early 04' (built in 03') and it does have the feature that lets the user reset it themselves.

I have a alate model 03 and it doesn't flash the low level indicator on start up. It also has manual reset for oil use indicator .

I had that exact problem on my 04 lb7. I went under the truck to change the oil and on the oil pan there is an electrical connection with a plug about 3/4 of the way up on the oil pan. This plug came undone somehow, I plugged it in and I,ve never had that message since. It was explained to me that the plug is a sensor that monitors if there is enough oil in the pan. If oil is low the sensor trips the dash message. Hope this helps.

Yes I bought it new and know that it is where it should be. I reset the oil life every time.

I will check for that, but wouldn't the message be there all the time if this was the case?

Only on start up then I would reset it with steering controls. Then it wouldnt show until next time I started truck.

Mine did it when it was new. The dealer found a pin had backed or was not in all the way from the factory on one of the connectors. No more problems with the check oil level.

I could PM my vin # to a tech and see if they listed the pin number or something.
