I've done a search am I'm not sure if this is the same problem all of you are talking about with the slip yoke. I have a 2 WD 2500HD D/A. From a complete stop when accelerating I feel a clunk. It almost feels like the allison is doing something weird, although I haven't had any problems. Doesn't happen if slightly moving before accelerating. First time post.....thanks.

My truck just started having a slight "clunk" when I accelerate. Mine basically started when I got new tires. Maybe it's the torque and the tires grabbing. I dont know.
Had the same problem in the p.o.s Ford ranger I had but it also clunked when I came to a stop. My trucks "clunk", like yours, only happens on acceleration.
My brother has the problem in his '07 F-150. Clunks when accelerating.
I'm assuming replacing the slip yoke may correct the problem. It did in the p.o.s Ford ranger.
My bro's Ford still has the problem but the slip yoke wasnt replaced. His ford mechanics said it's not the problem but something else. They still havent fixed the problem after 3 tries.

I am sure it is the driveshaft slip yoke. Had the same problem. Everyone wants to make it into something else! You will have to remove the driveshaft to clean and lube the splines. "Been there done that"

It was the driveshaft slip yoke. Thanks for the help. I did have a problem getting the splines to line up for reinstallation. Is this thing keyed? I noticed a wider area on the female portion of the spline but no corresponding wide area on the male side.
