I was wondering about heat. I have noticed that the paint on my rear end stock diff. cover is pealing off, and starting to rust. Is this normal for our diff. covers, or do you think that a over temp condition has occoured. I have been running royal purple full synthetic sense early on. I've never been back there and touched it. Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it. Whether you're using synthetic or not the rear diff will still get hot, plus the fact that the rear diff is exposed to all the crap on the road. I've rarely, if ever seen a stock diff that didn't peel eventually. Synthetic oil will still get hot, it's just more heat resistant than regular oil and it sticks better to moving parts.
