Are there any common reasons with D/A for oil spotting? I have noticed in the last month or so that I have developed some oil spotting it it seems to come from the area of the oil plug. it is torqued down. there does seem to be some oil on the bottom of my pan, and around the plug, and a small amount between the filter and its engine mounting, but it has no oil line or drip off the filter.?. I seem to remember something about a head bolt or manifold bolt causing something along these lines, or something about the intercooler..... ANY IDEAS?

Might need a new seal on your drain plug. Seems I remember some having this problem

I had the same on my 2003, I noticed it after they change the hydo_boost. They replace the part that right above the oil filter on mine. Leaks taking care of here.

If it's coming from around the pan and filter mount you need to dig a little deeper to find the cause. (not normal) The crankcase vent is near the passenger front of the engine so that's not the culprit.
Bob M, What was done to fix the problem? Could you visually see the leak?
