Just a FYI, when going to pismo, watch where you are making a U-Turn. I am not a professional towing expert, but I do know this is not a good spot.

WOW! from someone who was just at Pismo and walked my WW around anywhere I wanted at 18 PSI on all tires I say it's time this guy gave NOR CAL NICK a call and while Nick is getting the truck worthy he can be pressure washing the pis out of the WW and applying the first coat of POR-15. That just makes me cringe to see all the $$ siting in the surf....OUCH

That pic was taken during low tide, with no river. He was at the end where the last entrance to sand high way was.

That's the good thing about Pismo. There is always someone offering to pull you if your nice. If your and A hole then people pull up a lawn chair and crack open the next beer.

The 3-4 trucks that hooked up to him could not pull him out, but the 6 wheel drive army truck that hooked up to him pulled him right out with out even trying.

Yeah the sea has a way of claiming its victims fast.

DA INFERNO Hope you had a good trip. We were their the week before. Could not believe how packed it was. We went up into the sand about 200 yards because their was no real estate left down by the water. It's unbelievable how much tire pressure helps walking in sand. We had a friend with a great big motor home. Took 3 of us together to get him in and out. Thank god for Snatch straps!

Hey do you know that you can get a ticket if you help someone get un stuck....If the ranger see's you help someone you don't know you can get a ticket. If they give you money it's even worse of a ticket. Really my dad helped a off duty highway patrol man and his family, they where stuck in a 2wd and where heading out to town.... after the guy handed my day $20 just for helping him when no one else would and the ranger saw. Popped.. my dad get a ticket and he tried to fit it, even had the CHP guy write a letter because the guy felt bad. My dad goes to court down there and spends the day in jail. The tow company's have the place rapped up now and it is law that if you help someone you are taking away there work and can get a find. Dude back in the day I had a 1500 gasser Chevy I bet the crap out of pulling people out and used to come home with more money than spend from tips......those days are lonnnnggggg over:(.

Man Gab you are making me said.....I want to go.:(:(:(

Nick I think you only get busted if you take money for pulling some one out. I pulled a lot of ppl out this past week in front of the Ranger and never had a problem. They would drive by and just watch, then go on their way.

When is the family going to be able to go?

I just got back from my first trip to Pismo. I aired down to 15 all around and on the trailer too. I pulled it all over and set up camp about 200 yards in. It wasn't until I went to help my brother who was stuck that I just could not get his trailer unstuck from a dead stop in the deep stuff. It took two trucks in front of me to get that damn thing out. But I was pretty impressed with where I was able to tow my 23ft toy box loaded down. It is crazy how much airing down helped and thats on the stock tires, but its key to air the trailer down too. I just couldn't understand why some people wanted to camp right at the waters edge during high tide.

I am glad this gentleman and his truck (and family) were rescued.

Weekend Warrior RV just closed it's factory (a victim of the fuel crisis I guess, along with Alpha, Aljo and many others), so I would check with your dealer and score any fast wearing parts before they disappear.

You guys talk about crowding and I agree. This is the design of the environmental groups in Kalifornia who are slowly strangling the life out of off roaders. They will then point to the increased accident rate (caused by overcrowding) as an indicator that ATVs must be banned or face further control from the government. A never ending cycle.

They want our license money, but will not provide any new riding areas and only use our money against us to close or decimate (yes, reduce by 10% annually) current riding areas. I can't blame environmentalists, they learned from the Kalifornia state legislature who charge us DMV fees as though we use our pickups for commercial purposes loaded to the gunwales 100% of the time. We are charged on road fuel taxes for our off road vehicles and generators and now, it has been determined that our sales tax (one of the highest in the nation) is not quite high enough and needs to be increased another cent.

Sorry, I will get off my soap box now.

I love walkin into Steve's ATV rentals right near the check in and seeing the trailers, RVs and trucks claimed by the sea before rescue could come. :(

Its not just the overcrowding, but also the overclaiming that has increased on the beach. Camps roping and taping off massive areas well beyond the necessary space for comfort and in-camp riding. when i left last sunday, our 5 trailer campsite was claimed by 1 truck/trailer and a Jeep!

But yeah, that guy wasnt educated on the laws of tidal change ;)
