Just started running svo at 80/20. I am on my third tank & expected to have to change my fuel filter by now. From what I had read I expected it to happen pretty fast. I'm sure it will happen eventually but just wanted to make sure this is not a sign of a problem.

Are you running a mix of 80/20 #2Diesel/SVO? If so, you're not going to have the issues that biodiesel does, because veggie oil isn't a solvent like biodiesel.

Then you should be fine. Biodiesel is a strong solvent, which cleans out the fuel system of the deposits regular diesel leaves behind, clogging the fuel filter. Since you're not running biodiesel, I think you won't need to change your fuel filter.

Had to change it today. Running fine now.

Oh well-and here I thought you were going to be able to save some money by not having to buy filters!
