stalling going down the road without a loss of dash light if i'm reading this correct? it sounds like PMD. click the link in my signature called "PMD" and see if that sounds like your issue.

A large vacuum at the fuel cap could be your entire problem...
Try running it without the cap (if feasable).

When I bought my truck I left the fuel tank cap at the truck stop the first time I filled it up. Drove home almost all the way across TN with no problems. Got home and noticed 2 things. No fuel cap and it was fixin' to rain. Since I'd put a locking cap on my gasser I just got the old one and put it on the new (to me) bucket truck. Went for a drive the next day and stall, stall, stall... I was SICK. And this is my first diesel. I'd never touched a diesel engine before, but have always done my own auto work since 1965. Got on the net and found this Place.
FAQs and DiagCkList let me find my stalling problem quickly, and the correct fuel cap has had it good to go since. Thank you FAQs -- and to all that provided them!!!

Click the link on 1.1 Lift Pump test and actually do it to rule out the LP issue before PMD or IP.
