: What to pay for 22.5"
TheBigRedTruck 08-04-2008, 08:37 PM OK, Im in need of new rubber. I have always wanted to run 22.5"!!!! So I have been reading and looking around here. I see a lot of nice rigs with 22.5". But, whats a good price per rim. New rims or reconditioned, aluminum or steel. Im looking at reconditioned aluminum. I love the Toyo M503Z, what are you paying per tire for these, I called around today and no one could or would give me a price. They said they would have to call me back!!! Could some one help me get in the ballpark!!! DIMMER
kodiak 08-04-2008, 10:02 PM $185 for used alum rims. http://www.ronthebusnut.com/detailDisp_1850030.html Steel rims about $75-85 each.
that is a good deal I need to get some temp steel wheels to run 22.5 tire's just to make the ride better. Has any one gotten wheels from this shop and are they in good shape.
kodiak 08-05-2008, 01:43 PM I run them on my truck. Steel rims powdercoated black. I need to get off my a$$ and post a picture of them. LOL
That would be great to see some pics when you have time.
Morse 08-09-2008, 10:53 AM I tried contacting Ron the bus nut several times. I told him I was ready to buy. He would tell me he would check his inventory and call me right back, then I would never get a call back. Then when I called back, he would say he hadn't looked yet. This went on for a couple weeks..
firefighterfh 08-10-2008, 11:07 AM I purchased new accuride polished rims from Les Schwab tires tires for $385.00 each. I got 8.25" so I could install 11r 22.5 hancock tires. They cost just under $400.00 each. make sure if you go with a wider rim than stock you check to see that your front ABS wires and rear emergency brake cables are positioned away from the rims.
Morse 08-12-2008, 03:28 PM I got my 22.5 wheels/tires mounted and balanced from chromewheel.com for 4 grand plus $2xx for shipping.

Mr Kodiak 08-12-2008, 04:58 PM I have tried wheel cleaner and that just makess it clean but still blurry and dull.

haulztoyz 08-14-2008, 08:40 PM Off the subject but, does the 22.5 tires sidewall flatten out with 10 -15 psi. My 19.5's will flatten out. Curious to know should i get stuck in the sand again.
Mr Kodiak 08-14-2008, 09:32 PM well here is a site for 22.5 stylin rims
they also carry 19.5 and others
they also do super singles
bigduallywheels.com

The 19.5's look aired down , but my 22.5's dont look like they are though .
But they work amazing over the 19.5's , Guys come up to me and say arent you going to air down , I say they are .
Stiif sidewalls on the rig tires .
You'll be fine , just air the fronts down to 30 psi and the rears to 15-18 psi .

TheBigRedTruck 08-22-2008, 01:11 PM All six are Alcoa.
too many toys 10-03-2008, 09:27 PM do the 22.5s ride that much better than the 19.5s ?
i was contemplating putting a kelderman air ride system up front to knock the bang out of it .
how much clearance does everybody have between the front bumpstop and the leaf spring i only have about a 1/4 inch and it is touching
kodiak 10-04-2008, 10:00 AM I believe that the "bump stops" are actually overloads.
too many toys 10-04-2008, 10:13 AM i must be overloaded all the time then cause i just made the dealer replace the front springs and they ride in the same place.I will probably take gasuouts reccomendation and put a set of DEAVERS in the truck, but for the shocks i am good friends with brian bartel (monster truck driver) he builds/sells custom shocks for everything big
stout 10-15-2008, 10:26 AM Try "Whenol" It is a wax for wheels that works well. I would first try it in an inconspicuos area to make sure it doesn't react with other things you have put on the wheels already. It comes in a blue tube, looks like white toothpaste.
