Took the truck to the shop 3 weeks ago had all updates done and 1 injector replaced. Installed Six gun and my truck is loping again, I called Banks and they said send it in, so thats what I am going to do. They claim that they came out with a reflash for this problem last week. Not sure if this is the Dmax's problem, bank's problem, or a mixture of both. I am also experiencing problems with my truck spitting and sputtering, with white smoke during take off while the motor is below 180 degrees. I don't know if this is a Banks issue or another LLY injector problem. Have same issues with banks unhooked just not as severe. Any suggestions??????

If it is doing it with the Banks disconnected, then I would tend to think it is a truck issue. The Banks is only going to multiply the problem. My truck is an 05' built 10/04 and to my knowage it has never been reflashed. It has never been back to the dealer since I brought it. I have the 6 Gun w/speedloader and I haven't had any issues.
What year truck and what build date?

04.5 Built in January of 04.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it seams to me that all the people that are having any kind of major issues with the Banks are the first build trucks 04.5's. Wonder if something is a little different somewhere. Just a thought.

might want to make sure you have the latest flash before adding any tuner to it because just as someone said above, tuners only amplify an already existing problem.

September 04 is when the latest was released. PIP3129A..and now there is a B.

I have installed the Banks six-gun w/Speedloader, as I have stated in another thread. I have had it on for a coiple of weeks now. I am loping and I also have those issues you stated while under 180 degrees. I called Banks and they also told me to send it back to them for the fix, but I don't think I have the latest flash. I am most likely going to do both (try) I have had issues w/ dealer for the flash. Going around to different dealers doesn't really make much sense to me because I can see myself spending the 72.00 in fuel to find one to do it. I am going to try my dealer and if they won't do it for free f....ck it I will pay. I am looking for a good perfoming vehicle.


If you jump on the highway set the cruise at around 78 mph and see if you are skipping 5psi when it kicks in (it jumps between 4 and 6 psi) annoying as hell.

I have the banks six gun and my truck surges in reverse real bad with the ac on .for any body that has the LLY banks six gun go turn your ac and put it in reverse and report your finding thanks.my truck has no surging with out the ac off

Their is some type of communication problem from the APPS and the ECM if you disconnect the APPS sensor the Loping will stop,If the tuner is connected and the loping continues you need the flash.

Just shipped out the Banks Tuner I will let you know the results when it gets back, I am also going in Mon to another dealer to try and get PIP3129B flash.

One must also remember that GM does not use the same code in all trucks. With the problems being of the hit and miss type they seem to be I would bet it the differences between the code sets causing some if not all of the problems with the Banks unit.
