Is anyone using the new Mobil 1 "Extended Performance" oil?

Here's a paste from the Mobil web site...

Would this be a better oil to use? I don't know the cost.

The only synth oil that Mobil sells for Auto Diesel use, other than Delvac 1, is Mobil 1 Truck and SUV oil. And that product is just rebadged Delvac 1.

You only want to use oil that is rated for Diesel service.

Specifically, a 15W-40 in dino terms or 5W-40 that is the norm for synth oil.

There will also be an API rating for diesel service on the container.

The exception to this is Amsoil which meets the API ratings but is not certified. Use at your discretion.

For my LB7 the manual calls for CH-4 or CI-4. The only Mobil 1 that meets that is Delvac 1 and Mobil 1 Truck and SUV, which is commonly believed to be Delvac 1 under a different name, and packaged in quart containers.

The "Extended Performance" line of Mobil 1 only meets CF and CD.
