Hey guys, new here and figured this is the place to ask some questions. I appoligize if these are repeats, but here they go. I drove one today 2500hd crewcab duramax. I liked it alot. I was wondering what kind of fuel milage you guys have been averaging since diesel around where i live is about 2.20/gal. Also anything you like or particulary dont like about it. I intend on messing with it starting off with cold air intake, hypertech and eventually an exhaust. what could I expect from these and will it destroy my gas milage with the 5-spd allison. thanks for your time.
I was getting around 13mpg around town and 15-16 on the highway when my truck was new. I'm now getting around 15 in town and 18 highway. Some of the performance mods will increase the fuel mileage on our trucks. I would wait and break the truck in a little before adding anything. JMO.

Mine started out getting 13 mpg according to the DIC and now is up to 18.5 - 19 mpg with 16,300 miles on the clock. Probably the biggest thing that I don't like about the truck is those stupid plastic covers that cover the front seat rails and hide the seat mounts in the back. They are always getting in the way of getting out of the truck. The one on the passenger side has already been broken. Other than that, the truck is great!

I've got 3k miles on my 05 CC SLT and I'm getting a hand calc'd 17.5mpg in a mix of city/hwy driving. I'm not flogging it all the time, but not driving like a grandma either. ):h

only have 300 miles on my 05 D\A CC SB. Driving conservative last week I got 21 on hwy (65). By the end of the tank driving 30% in town (stop & go commute) I avg 18.8.

air intake doesn't really do much of anything, except make the whine on the turbo louder. the biggest benefits of any mods are going to be exhaust and tuner. More power and lower EGT's.
mileage may drop right after your purchase, but it does creep back up as its breaking in the new parts.

highest I ever got was 21mpg on the highway at 60mph. I average about 19mpg at 70ish, and about 14-16mpg in the city. Last fill was 15.5mpg, this was including all the hard burnout launches and 115mph run.
Mostly around town avg 15. I just did a short trip and kept the rpm at 2000 or less and got 21.5.

i have been getting 17.5 since mile 1. 5700 miles so far and now getting mid 19's and love it.only thing i dont like is i dont have the grill cover for low temperture driving and the engine never really warms up all the way and the heat doesnt get warm. so if you drive in low temps get the grill cover

My '05 has 1400 miles on it and I'm getting around 14.8 - 15.2 driving around town. I'm heading to New Orleans next week to pick up some duck boats, so I'll get a better feel for Hwy mileage.
22.5 on an easy highway run. about 17-17.5 in town short runs. Getting better all the time. I have an LT and the bottom of the head rest hits me right at the top of my shoulder. Seat belt a bit tight on a long haul
