Hi,

I picked up my 05 GMC CC SB D\A last week and filled up my first tank. I've read some are adding fuel additives during fill-ups. Given this is my first deezel I'm learning a lot on this board. I'm in in N. Cal so do I still need additives? Every fill-up? Any recommendations on which gas stations have the best fuel around here? Any other first timer tips is appreciated.

BTW - I'm having a blast with this truck. It is quick & gets excellent MPG for mini rig. I'll ask a few more questions re shocks soon.

Thanks.

Stanadyne collects the water and will sit in the bottom of the fuel filter thus getting rid of it from the fuel. This is what I run. (demulsifier)

I believe Primrose and FPPF (IIRC) will make the water particles smaller and then not causing a problem with the fuel. (emulsifier)

There are others out there and I am not sure what they are. GM wants us to use the Stanadyne if we use additives. Granted there are more knowledgable people out there that can explain it better but I did my darndest. Good luck and :welcome2: (http://dieselplace.com/forum/misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&forumid=7#)
