:mad:I did a real stupid thing today. I left the jobsite and drove home with my 1 ton dually in 4 wheel drive. 100 miles........ Anyone have any links or hook ups to purchase a rebuilt front pumpkin for my truck? This one will no longer unlock the driveline like it should it is always turning.

The thermal relay's do this sometimes. I usually get it to unstick by turning it off for awhile and if that doesn't work, I get off the road on soft dirt and try unlocking it and letting it roll till it gives up.

...are you sure its broke? Both half shafts are live all the time, whether 4wd is engaged or not. Can you verify the actual front driveshaft is turning?
Try just removing the actuator solenoid and freeing it up or replacing it, doesn't sound at all like a bad pumpkin to me.

My K3500's do this. It's the thermal relay stuck in the out position, but it should retract if it will, when it cools down. If not, pull it out and get the updated stepper for front axle engagement.

Try driving in reverse for about 50 ft. This will help your TC disengage completely if it's having a hard time doing so on it's own.

i am not %100 sure it is truely broken it has alot of back lash and i do not know what the specs are for the front end but from setting up a rear end building it is unacceptable. I have gone to work with it again today 200 miles later it is still engaged' I will take a look at it this weekend. I will try backin it up again i have not done that for alot of distance. Thanks guys
