First off let me get started witht he 3 basic mods I have...1///Predator tuner 2///MBRP 4" turbo back with muff an no kitty 3/// AFE St 2 intake.... Well on the 100 HP setting it made 309 RWHP an 518 RWT... The truck has 11K Mi. on it.. I kinda thought it would have done better, cause I saw where another guy with me set up put down 340 an like 600 something ont he 100hp tune.. On the 85 tune it was lke 297 an 467 tq... Is this good average or what... This was done in 5th gear, I asked the guy if putting the trk. in tow haul mode would help but he said it would make it downshift an not get a accurate reading.... Any thoughts would be nice.... Thanks

done in 5th gear? that doesn't seem right..the one-to-one gear is 4th. Besides, on the duramax 1st and 5th are limited to 520tq from the factory. 2-4 are 590 or 605 depending on year. just my opinion, but I think you would have better numbers using 4th gear. every dyno I have ever been on uses that gear.

You should have seen between 375 and 395 rwhp with that, IMO.

5th gear shouldn't have hurt much. Some tunes will actually do better in 5th. But normally you run it in 4th with OD lockout. Get going about 50mph, then roll the throttle to the floor gently to keep it from downshifting.

i got the pred other wise stock and i ran 339 and 700. you should run from 45 - 85 mph or something in that nature to get a good accurate reading

as for my testing, i dynoed on a mustang and found that the load cell was not loading the motor(boost) up enought over the short 4 second pull in forth. then in doing a 5th gear start at 76mph up to 103mph it would(6.5second) and would give a correct number, (gave over a 90hp difference)
so i think the type of dyno, and the hp your truck makes is the correct way to look (need a dyno to bring you to max boost pressure) at what gear is needed

keep an eye on your boost pressures to ensure you have maxed out in forth, then you will know, in my case i find the level road, in forth(50 to 73mph) will not max the boost pressure

We've been doing some dyno testing at Holley trying to get into the diesel market. We found that with the tow/haul on it made a little difference, but we do the pull from about 10mph until the computer shuts it off. So far we have only dynoed an LB7 with an AFE intake, we're going to put my LLY on there and dyno it within the next week. We're going to dyno both with a Preditor, TS Activator, and Edge.
