TST make a boost elbow that can be used to modify maximum boost pressure for the 94 to 02 cummins. Is there any product like this for a DMAX? You could likely use the same one I guess - the premise is simple enough. Far less $$$$ than a big head.

Yes, when I bought my tst box it came with this elbow to stall in place of the stock line that runs the wate gate. However, you need to be careful cause the stock turbo on a duramax can only make so much boost before it overspeeds and blows up.

Didcha use it? If so - how easy was it to regulate?

Give me a call and I'll tell you how to make a fully adjustable boost controller for about $22 out of ordinary parts.

Wes

Is this something that limits what boost the WG diaphram sees before a set # or something that changes peak boost by bleeding it off or what? I have been toying with some ideas and just havent gotten off my ass

TIA

I used it with my TST before I had a gauge. It was too much work taking it in & out for service work so I left it off. I don't know how accurate TST's display is but I saw 28-30 lbs on the display with the elbow and 21-23 without. I'm tossing it back in the truck this weekend, may have a boost level answer for you all by monday. I'll post whatever I come up with here when I'm done.

Cool, that's the information I was looking for. I would expect it would less effort to remove this component than a whole aftermarket wastegate. I may try one.

It works good. You can actually adjust the allen-screw "cap" clockwise (more boost) or counter-clockwise for less. It all depends on what kind of fuel you got going in. I optimise mine for ~ 35 PSI (taken from output of turbo). No problems yet.

Click on the TST link in this thread and it should take you right to it. $25 or you can look for a dealer in your area. Its designed for a Cummins wastegate - thats why there are threads, but with a little tinkering it is obviously applicable.

TST actually makes one specifically for the duramax. I know when I bought their chip for the duramax it came with a similar thing like that elbow. Except it fits right in line of the waste gate. All you have to do is remove the stock waste gate line and put theirs in place of it, simple as that. It might not be on their website for sale, but if you called and asked I bet they would sell you one.
