When I turn off ignition, most times, I get a clunk noise, sounds like something popping into place. Sounds like column area. Is this the steer. intermediate shaft noise I keep seeing? My friends identical truck does it too. Is there a TSB?? and should I get it done anyway?? I don't hear anything abnormal while driving truck. Just wondering about the shaft alot of you got done. Thanks
I had the same thing with my 03 2500 HD D/A clunking in the steering column. There are many posts that say yes the dealer will replace the intermediate shaft and no they won't it just needs to be greased properly. The dealer replaced mine free of charge last week and it doesn't do it anymore. There is a TSB for 01-04 GM trucks on the steering shaft issue. If you search around this site there are numerous threads regarding this issue...Jim
