I have a "clunk, clunk" sound when opening and closing the driver-side front door. After a search, I reviewed the threads listed below.

I found that yes the two 10MM nuts attaching the door check link to the door were loose. After tightening them the "clunk clunk" sound was not as loud but still present.

I then purchased a new door check link (GM Part # 1517-3407) for the driver-side front door from my local dealer. After removing the door panel and installing the new link the "clunk, clunk" remains but at a much more tolerable level.

Is there possibly an updated part available?
Has anyone had this experience and found a fix?
