Hey guys I'm from the 6.5 side of the forums, but I have a friend who was wondering about putting a manual switch on his LB7 for the glow plugs. He has a 2001 and the warranty ran out a few months ago.

Let me explain why he's so concerned. I dropped my glow plugs (they were cycling apparently while I was driving, I ended up breaking most of them in half. When I pulled them off and did a compression test, one of my cylinders was only getting 50PSI). If anyone has a 6.2 or a 6.5 long block they can sell me, I'd be super interested, as that would get me back on the road while I rebuild my 6.5.

I believe there is a special warranty for the lb7 glow plug systems. Maybe check into that so he can have some piece of mind.

So no one has bothered disabling the glow plugs on their LB7? Easier to just get the warranty?

Question.....why would you disable the glow plugs?
