What the car guys do:

Find somebody who wants to swap in the other direction. There is always someone out there who wishes they had an auto.

Best solution is to actually swap vehicles. It works out the cheapest, and maintains the warranty, and is the most foolproof.

PS - Switching to a manual is not an "upgrade", it's a downgrade. Once you turn your truck into a manual, it loses a significant amount of resale value. Not just because the vehicle has a mismatched build sheet, but because the manual sells for less new, and is not a desireable build. It's not a coincidence that they make most all Dmaxes with the auto, it's just what the customers desire, which drives the resale market price.

IIRC under $5000 but if u go handshaker your looking over $2000 for just the clutch/flywheel set up.

You've got a brand new truck, so your trans. should be in pretty good shape. I say buy the Level 4 kit(4200$+/-installed), you will have the same(I am told) holding power as the 5(tranny swap), for less money. I think swithcing to an auto. would be a :badidea:. There is no downside the way I see it in owning a built Allison auto.
