Hey all here is my vid of last friday night at paris il. Anyone have some pointers for me.
Heres how it went down. I pulled third in the class. It was a 7500# open class. I put it in 3rd 4low/ od off/ th on. Pulled out on the track backed up and hooked (at the precise moment in time I knew I was screwed and scared sh!tless:eek:). Cause I know how I am and I get bugs easy. So now Im hooked:D. OK the last thing someone at the track told me before pulling out there was to hold the brake as hard as I could and start to throttle up when the truck starts to walk through it let off slowly and get on it. So I did that instead of what I had been prepairing to do. That is to pull tight roll into it and keep rolling till full throttle. Needless to say this caused me to bounce right out of the gate. So I paniced and let out of it. First pull under 75'. Just a little premature ejaculation:mad:. So they pulled me back and let me try again. So I went back to my original plan. Didn't do bad untill about half track. I hit a bump and could not hold my foot still to keep it under the revlimiter so all I could do was get back on it and let her eat. I did and she reved out and there I stopped 251.??':rolleyes:. As for track conditions the track was packed tight and sorts glassy. I thought it was great conditions for my almost bald tires. Sorta like hooking on the drag track. So here is my link to my vid. Please give me some suggestions on how to better myself for future hooks. My next one is tomorrow night.
